What is the difference between a peer-reviewed and a scholarly journal article?

 A “scholarly” journal article is an academic  paper written by an expert for an audience of other experts, researchers and or students. A peer reviewed article is one  reviewed and critiqued by the writer’s peers – experts from within the respective field of study. The rigorous methods of inquiry applied to a peer reviewed article prior to its publishing, means that it  usually holds greater merit than a Scholarly paper,
